iPhone lifting log
Log it like a note.
Train like a pro.
Type or say bench 135x5x3 @8 and it becomes a logged set. Chalk, your coach, tells you the next set, plans the week and answers questions. Every number comes from a training engine, never from a guess.
Beta for iPhone. No account needed.
Type it. Or say it.
Write sets the way you would in Notes: load, reps and sets in any order, with RPE or RIR, units, bodyweight, drop sets and supersets. Hold the mic button to speak a set instead.
- If a line is unclear, Chalkmark asks. It never saves a guess.
- Logging works on every supported iPhone, with no AI model needed.
- Voice is turned into text on your iPhone.

A coach that does the math with an engine
Chalk picks your next set, suggests your next session and swaps an exercise when equipment is taken. Load, reps, sets, rest and recovery come from a rule-based training engine. The language model explains. It never invents a number.
Next set
Add load, add reps, hold or ease back, based on your own history on that lift and machine.
Next session
Build a day or a multi-day plan from your goals, your gym and the time you have. If it is too short to hit your weekly targets, Chalk says so.
Checked before you see it
Every number in a reply must appear in a result from the engine. If it does not, it is not shown.
Careful with pain
Pain, injury or medical questions get a fixed, general reply that points you to a qualified professional, with no programming through pain.
Changes to your log that start in chat always ask you to confirm first.
Plans, gyms and machines
Save multi-day plans from Chalk, from a past session or by hand, then run them with sets prefilled. Tell Chalkmark what each of your gyms has, including machine variants and plate setups, and suggestions only use what is there.
- Plate math for barbells and other setups
- Machines tracked separately, with conversion from your own sets
- Switch gyms by hand, or let your iPhone suggest the one you are at
- Rest timer with a Live Activity
Your data stays yours
Your log lives on your iPhone. There is no account and nothing to sign in to.
Back up and restore
Save a backup file to Files or iCloud Drive and restore it by merging or replacing. Automatic daily copies are kept in the app too.
Export
Export your log as plain text that reads back into Chalkmark and into any notes app.
Import
Bring in history from Strong, Hevy and FitNotes files or pasted notes. Anything unclear is shown for review first.
Health, read only on demand
With your permission, Chalkmark reads sleep, HRV, resting heart rate and body weight from Apple Health to judge recovery. It never saves those values. Raw Health samples are never sent anywhere.
Private by design
No ads, no analytics, no tracking and no selling of data. The coach runs on your iPhone with Apple's on-device model, unless you choose to turn on cloud help.
- Progress photos never go to any AI model
- Location is used only on your phone to match saved gyms
- Optional cloud help is off until you agree. When on, it sends your chat messages and the results of the lookups Chalk runs for your question, which can include your body-weight trend. See exactly what
Coming later
Not in the beta yet: iCloud sync across devices, home-screen widgets, Siri and Shortcuts, a Face ID photo vault, writing workouts to Apple Health, and a light appearance. For now the app is dark only.
